Cement process starts with heating a precise mixture of finely ground limestone, clay and necessary additives; such as Iron ore etc., in a rotating kiln to temperatures reaching approx. 1400ºC, which results in the production of clinker, an intermediate but the core element of cement. The cement clinker emerges from the kiln, is cooled, and then finely ground with different additives based on standards, to produce the powder, which we know as cement.
Production of cement completes after passing of raw materials from the following 5 key and tough phases. These are;
- Raw material extraction/ Quarry
- Raw material preparation (grinding/proportioning/blending)
- Kiln Phase
- Cooling and Final Grinding
